Throughout the year, we offer a range of courses designed to help new volunteers gain the skills and knowledge to lead fun, friendly and safe Health Walks.
But during November alone, our fabulous network of cascade trainers delivered Walk Leader courses to over 90 new volunteers in Partick, Motherwell, Dunbeath in Caithness, Dulnain Bridge, Grangemouth, Kilmarnock and Inverness.
In addition to that, our trainers also delivered seven community strength and balance workshops to over 70 of their Walk Leaders in Glasgow, Melrose, Giffnock, Perth, Edinburgh, Callander and Aberdeen.
These Walk Leaders now know why strength and balance exercises are so important, and, combined with regular walking, hold the key to a happy and healthy life.
They will be able to encourage those joining their Health Walks to give strength and balance a go, both on walks and at home.
It’s really exciting for us to see this level of Health Walk training activity and we’d like to thank our trainers for their dedication to recruiting and supporting volunteer Walk Leaders who will go on to provide welcoming walks for everyone, everyday, everywhere.
