Once again, we're inviting teams of workmates from across the country to sit less and move more by taking part in our popular eight-week Step Count Challenge.
Starting on 3 May, colleagues will be coming together to motivate each other to be more active, from lunchtime walks and active meetings, to work calls on the go.
Using the revamped Step Count Challenge website, teams can log steps, sync fitness trackers, message teammates, and chart their progress on the leader board.
This time last year, over 930 teams from workplaces large and small took part in the challenge, racking up over 1.1 billion steps collectively, that’s over half a million miles!
Now, the 2021 spring challenge is open to all workplaces for registration, whether office based or working from home.

With the days getting brighter all the time, we’re really looking forward to this spring’s Step Count Challenge.
After a long winter and a difficult and stressful year, our challenge is a chance for colleagues to come together as a virtual team and be motivated to go outdoors, walk more and feel good.
Working life, like many other things, may still look and feel different, but there’s lots of opportunities to factor walking and activity into your day, from lunchtime walks and phone meetings on the move to online workouts, using the car less often and enjoying 10-minute activity bursts during breaks via Zoom or Teams chats.
So, get your team together, give yourself a great team name and join us this spring's challenge.
After last year’s spring challenge, a survey showed over 90% of respondents felt the motivation and support of their team meant they could cope better with Covid-19 and lockdown.
We also worked with the University of Edinburgh to assess the impact of the challenge, surveying several hundred people and finding “statistically significant” changes in participants’ happiness and life satisfaction.
Everyone taking part in this year’s spring Step Count Challenge will be motivated to reach and exceed goals throughout the eight weeks by blogs, tips, fun competitions, and every team will be automatically entered into prize draws worth hundreds of pounds each week.
